A message from Richard:

"Now that Summer has arrived (down here in Nottingham anyway) and we're officially into barbecue season, it's time for the annual Richardfest summer-barbecue-excuse-for-a-drunken-weekend. This year's Richardfest will sadly be the last, as all of my exams will be finished and I'll hopefully be moving out shortly afterwards, what with my relocation to Glasgow and all.

Provisional dates at the moment are the weekend of Friday the 29th of June to Monday the 2nd of July; if a large number of folk can't make it, I can reschedule but let me know soonish as my Summer's already filling up with stuff to do. Whichever weekend it falls, people are welcome to take a few days either side as, save sorting out the move up to Scotland, I'll have very little to do during the week.

Plan is, as in previous years, to head out into Nottingham town on Friday night, recover Saturday morning, barbecue all Saturday afternoon and night and go sit in a park or somesuch on Sunday. I'm inviting 14 or so people from outside of Nottingham at the moment so unless you're prepared to potentially sleep on the floor with a bunch of other folk I'd suggest this weekend may not be for you. Also, let me know if you can't make it so your highly-valued sleeping space can be offered up to my B-list of guests.

Currently, return flights from Glasgow with BMI Baby are around about £40, including tax, which is amazingly well priced considering it'll only take you an hour to fly down here. This probably works out cheaper than the train too at the moment, although I haven't bothered to check. Regardless how you're coming down, book soon as Nottingham's a bit of an arse to get to and can be very expensive to travel to.

I'll no doubt be seeing many of you at the start of June for Charle's birthday in Edinburgh, about which I shall send out another email, but if not hopefully see you at the end of June."
